I am a rock...

I have a blog because although none of my students will recognize or appreciate the Simon & Garfunkel reference in the title of their upcoming assignment, I trust that many of you will!

I've decided that as a final assignment for the rock cycle, the students will get a choice between writing a short story from the perspective of a rock or writing a comic book adventure about the rock cycle.

Does weathering hurt? Is it hot being igneous? What is compaction really like?

I've created a pre-writing sheet for the short story and rubrics and assignment sheets for both. What I'm having trouble with is a planning sheet for the comic book. I guess they need to storyboard it in some way before doing their final draft. For the short story, I made a table with prompts for them to jot down ideas for an attention-grabbing opening sentence, the type of rock they want to start out as, how they are going to transition to the next type of rock, and so on, all the way to their conclusion. I need something similar - a simple way to provide structure and to ensure that they don't forget to include the science - for the comic book.

Any of you artists out there got any ideas?

The rock cycle is a fundamental concept in geology that describes, sportsbook, the dynamic transitions through geologic time among the three main rock types: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. http://www.enterbet.com

All the rocks we have today (except for meteorites!) Are made of the same material in the rocks that were made during the time when dinosaurs and other ancient life forms walked, crawled or swam over the land.costa rica fishingWhile the materials that make up the rocks have remained the same, no rocks. Over millions of years, rocks have been recycled and converted into other rocks. The movement of tectonic plates is responsible for destroying and forming different types of rocks. http://www.fishingcostaricaexperts.com
