Suppose Ms. Frizzle became Chancellor Frizzle (not that any sane person would want the job). And suppose a centerpiece of the Frizzle agenda was to address some of the problems NYC teachers encounter most frequently. Which problem(s) would you tackle first? I.e., which ones do you think you could make progress on in the short term without suspending fiscal and political realities?

Living in the city and going to Columbia are pretty expensive. How do you manage on a teacher's salary?

I'm looking for a way to supplement the education knowledge gained in my Masters classes.

What were some valuable resources you turned to when pursuing your teaching career - both online and in book form?

I'm starting 2006 wanting to get fully immersed in all things education so I can be the best teacher possible when I complete my program.

Browneyedgirlie;

Find the best teachers in your school and see how they teach. No book or course can make you a good teacher.

Ms. Frizzle;

When are you going to graduate to the big leagues, the high school?? More mature students, meaningful Regents to pass, college recomendations and yes a lab technician to setup your lab!

Does the interweaving of education and politics help, hinder, or indifferent to the education of children?

Can the corruption in the DOE ever be eliminated?

How come the DOE nor the Mayor ever address the discipline issues that plague all struggling schools? Do they not realize it is the main reason for failure?

What is the first step to starting one's own school?
